Day 6 of Making a Game Boy music tool for my game's audio.

Left/right panning and volume envelopes (ie fadeouts) are now in place, following GB limitations.

Long envelopes result in a bell-like sound 🥰 and short ones cause a stubby blip-like sound.😑

The boat reaches Hotland, and its passengers begin to get off. River Person: Tra la la… we’ve arrived to Hotland A lot of people are tired after the squeezing travel. We see some Snowdin monsters, like Nice Cream Guy, pulling his entire nice cream cart down of the boat. Gerson cracks his back after sitting for so long, while Frisk jumps down the boat energetically. Frisk: Alright guys, let’s move! MK: Comin-! *SPLASH* Before they can finish the word, Monster Kid and falls in the water. Frisk and Asriel stare in awkward silence. Everyone reaches the stairs to the MTT Hotel, where they join an even larger group of monsters from all around the Underground. On the top of a rock, the Royal Guards 01 and 02 are directing the citizens with a megaphone 01: Alright people, like, remember to follow the line! Keep heading to the Hotel and wait ‘till the elevator starts working!

We get another sequence of Frisk and Asriel back at the ruins. Asriel is looking tense at Frisk, who just got their soul out. Asriel: Frisk… a-are you…? Frisk: I know what you’re thinking, but you don’t need to worry… I’ll explain how you can absorb it without- Asriel: NO! Asriel doesn't let Frisk finish the sentence. He looks at them in anger and worry. Asriel: I won’t take your soul! don’t even think about it! Y-you… you can’t just offer your life like that, Frisk! I won’t let you help me if it means you have to die! Frisk stays in silence for a while, looking at Asriel with an unsurprised, midly annoyed face. Frisk: Ok, now that you’ve drop the same statement you aaalways repeated to me on the past resets, would you let me explain why I *don’t* need to die in order to help you? Frisk answer breaks the seriousness of the argument. Asriel is left bewildered and speechless seeming as he's jumped to conclusions too soon. Asriel: …Y-you mean it? Frisk: Yep Asriel: You’re not trying to trick me, are you? Frisk: Nope Asriel: You promise? Frisk: Promise Asriel: …Ok, I’ll listen Frisk: Alright. First, I want you to remember our battle… Frisk recalls a scene with Hyperdeath Asriel at the end of UNDERTALE, where he displays a number of rainbow attacks. Frisk: You shattered my soul more than once until I learned how to avoid your attacks, yet I managed to survive every time you defeated me. Asriel interrumpts Frisk's speech, sounding embarrassed. Asriel: Ah, yes… sorry about that… Frisk: No hard feelings. The thing is: I could keep my soul stable, even without the power to reset the timeline. Although my DETERMINATION was smaller than yours at that moment, it was enough to keep my will to survive… to help my friends… We get a flashback of Frisk's soul fusing back together, with a message of "but it refused" behind it. Frisk: That’s what gave me the idea of experimenting with it. Keeping in mind my objective to save you, I tried to stay alive as much as I could while splitting it up using one of my checkpoints. After several attempts, I can now keep it in half for a few seconds before I die. We get a flashback of Frisk struggling to split their soul in the Snowdin forest. As Frisk keeps explaining, Asriel stares in shock after learning Frisk experimented with their own deaths. Frisk: That should be enough time for you to absorb a piece of it. Then, both parts would remain stable within us. And since I, its original owner, will still be linked to it, I'll be able to survive while sharing it with you. Asriel: But… if I never accepted absorbing half your soul in your past tries, how can you be sure you’ll be fine? Frisk: Heh… who do you take me for, Az? Asriel: (…) Frisk: (…) Frisk: I have no clue, it’s just my guess Asriel: YOUR GUESS?! Frisk: Alright, it doesn’t sound very safe, I know. But think about it, what’s the worst that can happen? Even if it fails at the first try, I’m still in control of the timeline. I’d just go back to my checkpoint and try again!
