it’s just so performative! like if you actually gave a shit you’d just talk to your friends and not post generic images on your IG story! like I enjoy spending Christmas alone but my god people are idiots about it

this has been a very hard year for making peace with a lot of those times, but however it ended, I’m glad I got to be there and glad I got to have those experiences and glad I got to love who I loved.

it meant the world, and every experience I had I’ll hold in my heart forever. even the bad ones.

the kid who went out to a gig one night in camden at 13 and met a bunch of people who looked after her and protected her when they were barely clinging onto sobriety and life themselves would never believe all she managed to do, and also wouldn’t believe she was still alive now, but here I am

so many musicians I knew have died, more have changed into people I don’t recognise, and some are still exactly the same as they were mostly in a good way. that industry leaves permanent scars, but it made me who I am and gave me so much, and I can’t ever be mad about that

Elvis sits in the same category as A Star is Born and Almost Famous for me honestly, like my time with the music industry will always be complicated, even more so after the events of this year, but my god I lived a million lifetimes and loved it so much and have stories no one would believe

and quite frankly my last three Christmases have been in retail so I deserve this
