Plenty of art is cringe, and also yeah. Criticise her for being a billionaire. Criticise her for her AI rollout. But to be like "this isn't art" because it doesn't meet some imagined standard of what art is supposed to be is just bad criticism. It's lazy and boring. You can say this is shit art.

Pop music is never gonna meet the standards of high art because its purpose is first to be popular. But Shein is a global capitalist atrocity, a company that uses exploitation and environmental destruction as their business model. Comparing them to Swift is incomprehensibly stupid. Grow up.

Just quietly I actually really fucking hate this article, I thought we were past policing art. Absolutely criticise cynical profiteering, but there are about eight thousand songs that sound like the pixies where is my mind, you can't copyright a chord progression for a reason.
