How long do you think you will live? There is research on aging that will allow us to remain young indefinitely. Imagine being biologically 30, but chronologically 90, 100, 200, even 400 years of age!
Trump does not understand consent. Greenlanders have told him No means No multiple times. This is essentially what happens when you put an unrepentant serial rapist in office.
Greenland belongs to Greenlanders. They do not want to become Americans.

I love Generative AI as a technology, but I hate it's implementation and the company policies behind it.

It is pure hypocrisy to train on public data, then refuse to keep your AI open sourced. "Rules for thee but not for me".

Why develop anti aging treatments? Most people think the focus is on longevity. The primary reason is to reduce the risk of developing debilitating illnesses like Cancer, Dementia, and general loss of function. The substantial longevity gains is a side benefit. #SENS #antiaging #cureaging

A reminder that we don‘t have to use US products to build AI infrastructure.

- Mistral is a leading and very powerful French AI model.

- burn.dev is a Canadian built open source ML library in Rust with a number of powerful features competitive to PyTorch and Jax.

Jim O’Neill is NO friend of the longevity movement. Jim is a quack, and has actually undermined our movement. Despite this, there are reasons why we want to get aging under medical control. Aging is a major cause of Cancer , Alzheimer's disease. By keeping ourselves youthful, we remain healthy.

If western "leftist" decide to become anti technology, count me out of the left. The past 200 years of improving standards of living has been the result of technology. Being against AI and future technology is dumb. It's the implementation that is the problem!
eastern Marxist-Leninists:

- oversaw single largest industrialization, becoming competitive superpower
- competitive in frontier research and technology
- modern china: _mandating_ AI fundamentals

western “leftists”:

- you offended my aesthetic sensibilities, so i will now oppose technology
i think tech and ai positive people are going to be in for a big shock when anti tech and anti ai sentiment becomes a major part of leftwing politics going forward especially as datacenters continue to destroy communities and raise electricity bills

Public dollars funded the research and development behind AI. All of our data was used to train the foundational models. The only way to make sure we all fairly benefit from AI is to treat us all as shareholders and distribute a monthly UBI dividend to all of us that's indexed to productivity growth

One or another form of unconditional “basic income” has now been advocated by individuals ranging from conservative economists like the…

It's the only realistic response to AI, and every single person voting no in your poll either doesn't understand it very well or opposes the idea based on dogmatic ideas or fears of being taxed more than they receive.

Milton Friedman himself supported UBI, but many fools still yell "socialism."
Negative Income Tax is Not Cheaper Than Universal Basic Income, Nor is Guaranteed Income 'More Progressive' by Excluding the Rich
Many people don't know this, but Milton Friedman was once asked in the Spring of 2000 what he thought about a universal basic income (UBI) in comparison to his proposed negative income tax (NIT) and t...

For the distant future, the goal should be: an economy where you do not need to work because ai/automation does nearly all of it, where citizens collect a Universal Income /dividend from the fruits of labor of AI

The question is how do we achieve it?

We need transhumanism that is data driven, not hype driven. Maybe transfer of consciousness is possible, we don't know yet. We first need to know what consciousness even is. In the mean time, the focus must be on curing and preventing illness, frailty and disease.

Would life extension, anti aging really result in overpopulation? Unlikely. Fertility rates are declining, even among developed countries. a post aging world also does not need to "stop having children" either. Here we see a similar fertility rate to that of modern developed countries.

Yes, it's kind of getting out of hand. Worth pointing out they don't reflect how most people think. Polling data across europe and north america suggest people have nuanced views on generative AI (and AI in general).

On the tech side, the AI-scolding (and general anti-AI discourse) is really boring too. Even the mildest comment, like when I said I find it useful for some coding tasks, gets a torrent of abuse and dozens of blocks. The interesting research discussions are one of the few things I miss from Twitter
