She/her, I donate to efficient anti poverty and anti aging research charities. My goal is 100.000 USD donations by 2040. I am a digital Painter. I support art whether it was made with Traditional, digital, and AI tools.
AI can be beneficial in cases like coding, graphical improvements in raytracing, image upscaling or NPC dialog. But it should be playing our games for us... Lets treat AI like a tool, not a "magic box" that does everything for you.

Public dollars funded the research and development behind AI. All of our data was used to train the foundational models. The only way to make sure we all fairly benefit from AI is to treat us all as shareholders and distribute a monthly UBI dividend to all of us that's indexed to productivity growth

It's the only realistic response to AI, and every single person voting no in your poll either doesn't understand it very well or opposes the idea based on dogmatic ideas or fears of being taxed more than they receive.

Milton Friedman himself supported UBI, but many fools still yell "socialism."
Negative Income Tax is Not Cheaper Than Universal Basic Income, Nor is Guaranteed Income 'More Progressive' by Excluding the Rich
Many people don't know this, but Milton Friedman was once asked in the Spring of 2000 what he thought about a universal basic income (UBI) in comparison to his proposed negative income tax (NIT) and t...

So how much progress are we making in anti aging? Quite a lot actually, and we have mouse models that show real potential and proof of concept. Despite the modest funds they received, they were able to make real progress.

With a low birth rate, we will see bad actors use it as an excuse to impose an inspired Gilead style authoritarianism to bump it up. This is a hell I want to avoid. With life extension, it will reduce the pressure to increase births rates (TFR). In fact, modern TFR will be fine with anti aging.

I believe getting aging under medical control solves many problems.
1) prevents cancers, heart disease, frailty, and dementia.
2)more bodily autonomy, control over our appearance and lifespan
3)reduces societal pressures to have children.
4) reduction in healthcare costs. (most HC costs from aging)

Without anti aging, we would likely see a population collapse, there is no high income country outside of Israel that has replacement fertility.

With a sustained fertility rate of 1.5, population would collapse.

Humans are are not mindless microbes on a dish, we can change our decisions with respect to timing of having children, based on long term outlooks on changes in society, technology, and the environment.

I also expect that we will over time get better at preventing non aging related fatalities. And I expect fertility rates overall would be lower, since with such longer lifespans, there would be less pressure to have children.
