This allows long-term control over months. Notably, we find evidence of degradation of control over long periods. We can restore performance with a brief recalibration procedure.
karuneshganguly.bsky.social
We find evidence for 'representational drift', evident as changes in the centroid. Decoders that sample multiple days can account for the observed drift.
karuneshganguly.bsky.social
Using closed-loop training, we can improve decoder performance. This is highly context specific.

Excited to present our long-term ECoG BCI control study in two participants. Fantastic teamwork all around!

Sampling representational plasticity of simple imagined movements across days enables long-term neuroprosthetic control.

thanks; definitely a team effort

We used our 'ringtrode' to change phasic excitability and reduce the reactivation rate. We found evidence of significantly lower performance gains after brief breaks.

Excited to share work on how ensemble reactivations during brief rest periods drive performance gains. Marlene Bonstrup and Leonardo Cohen found evidence for 'micro-offline gains'. We find casual evidence for ensemble reactivations during brief rest periods in driving gains. rdcu.be/d6mpe
Ensemble reactivations during brief rest drive fast learning of sequences
Nature - In macaques, motor cortex activity associated with motor learning tasks is reactivated during brief breaks between learning blocks and predicts subsequent performance gains.
