am I crazy for thinking more Americans would be able to recognize "doctors HATE her"/"one weird trick" or similar chum ads than could name, say, three NHL teams?

Several People Are Typing by Calvin Kasulke. A man gets trapped in the office slack, and that's just the start of the story. This book manages to perfectly balance the mundane absurdity of office life with the profound absurdity of the cosmos.

this is, tbh, the Thunder's biggest advantage. One of their top guys has been out and it straight up has not mattered. This is also the only way I can see to incorporate often-injured guys, especially big men (Zion, Wemby, my beloved Big Mitch) into something resembling a coherent team identity.

nowhere specific to put this but I think the NBA is moving towards a version of teambuilding that looks more like the platooning pitching staffs the MLB has shifted to (vs. riding a starter for ~7 innings, then throwing in 1-2 relievers). The more guys get injured the more it makes sense to go deep

consider: this would be very funny. but also, yeah, good point. ultimately Dupont had to sign off on the insane trade in the first place, he should be shouldering just as much blame as the guy who brought the idea to him

that AD reporting is damning, though. can't imagine you have any chance of attracting players to your franchise if your GM is known for trying to rush injury-prone players back against medical advice. (obviously should've dumped him over the summer but c'mon)

the best part of this is whoever San Antonio's color commentator is keeps correcting* their play-by-play guy on the broadcast, insisting "Nah, he's shooting one hundred percent" and deadpanning "I haven't seen him miss one." This is the exact kind of stupid bit your color guy should be doing

Harrison Barnes is shooting 50% from deep??
