Pretty sure I’m paying roughly 10% of my gross to insure self and spouse. I’m ok with that going to taxes instead. Plus I theoretically wouldn’t have to set so much aside for emergencies. (And I recognize that I’m super lucky that I *can* set aside for emergencies now.)

I have a 6’ that works for my 10’ ceilings (I’m 5’7”). I feel safer with a slightly taller ladder so I’ve got more to balance against while I’m working if that makes sense.

At 27, in the best shape of my life, I had the audacity to stand up while holding a coffee cup and had to lie down for three days. 18 years later, leaning on a counter led to surgery. Stupid backs.

For the holidays, I do the classic ones but add the stuffing stuff - sautéed onions and celery, all the herbs…I cook it with the sausage then mix as usual. Not to discourage the stove top version b/c that sounds AWESOME, but who doesn’t want more kinds of sausage balls???

I have been so much better lately cooking things specifically to portion out and freeze, and it’s made life so much better. Making my favorite chicken, kale, and white bean stew tonight!

I do this with a tray. Husband and I work from home, offices on the second floor. Coffee comes up on a tray every morning, then tray comes back down with accumulated dishes etc every evening.
