My son's fiance, who doesn't drive, purchased an ebike some months ago and says it has been a huge boon for her in an area with limited bus service and few sidewalks.

Not only do I agree with this, but I have a story publishing next month in Reactor Mag (first draft from 2019 and substantially revised and lengthened in 2023) that has a fractured break up of the USA as its back story.
