It’s lowkey my favorite theory. I’m finally writing an essay about it but it’s taking forever

sometimes I think about using set theory to work at larger programmatic scales and then I’m like no you really can’t go this far

it’s a project for me but tbh the ring is basically opera at tv scale and seems more intimidating than it is. on its face there are, like, dwarfs and rings. It’s only after you’re done where you’re like ok what is the deal with that

the real crank theory is that there are only two parts of the ring cycle and then those two parts are simply repeated in more elaborated forms. If i still remembered how to do set theory i could prove this but i don’t so it stays in the crank theory folder. All of this is its own essay

this is slightly less crank than “Siegmund is a woman” theory (also true)

in inter-cyclical ring theory basically Sieglinde is the most important character because she represents the true middle of the cycle in which all other parts of the cycle are secretly contained. this sounds vaguely schizoid but it’s actually true

the way I’m doing it is somehow more insane (based on my unwritten-about crank inter-cyclical ring theory) but also thankfully not as sentimental. I wrote the original essay when I was working on the messiest parts of womanhood in psychoanalysis but thankfully I’m done with that now
