Earlier this fall, OpenStax: Lifespan Development launched. This is a free, OER textbook. I'm proud to have contributed to chapters 4, 6, and 8. It aims to help reframe #devpsyc with a more inclusive, and contemporary voice, and to help reduce book prices.

I have 16 Sims I've been raising from infants without cheats that live in a dorm style building broken into 8 units. I only want to play 2 at a time, but love the rental feature where they all use shared space.

I know groups who help with bedding & furniture & appliances. I've known churches in past who provided sanctuary. Main things people need to bring are medications & identification & money. It's not easy, but there are people here who care.

The section of the Canadian Red Cross textbook that talks about genital injuries doesn't mention menstrual health. Or women's genitals at all. Sure, there's a chapter on birth, but there's more to women's health than pregnancy. @redcrosscanada.bsky.social

I appreciate that there's a chapter on Special Populations like pediatric & geriatric patients. But there's nothing on transgender patients & very little on bariatric patients. Plus this info needs to be sprinkled throughout the book for best practices. 2/n

I'm currently taking Advanced First Aid / Profession Responder with the Canadian Red Cross. We talked in class how women die because first responders are hesitant to access women's chests in emergencies. Yet the textbook nearly exclusively uses men in diagrams. 1/n
