Nur können die Mitarbeitenden der Postdoc Offices unsere Situation leider auch nicht direkt ändern. Die sind übrigens an der Uni Wien auch nur befristet angestellt afaik. Vielleicht sammeln die auch nur Sternchen in der Illusion, entfristet zu werden. 🥲

I relate to this so a lot.
Even though I cognitively understand that the reviews improve the manuscript (most of the time).
Last time I thought I‘d do the hardest comments first (aka eat the frog), I won’t do it again. It made the whole process appear even harder.

Da steht mein Post, ich habe mit Sicherheit keine Interventionen, oder gar wissenschaftliche Einschränkungen vorgeschlagen, noch habe ich dies in irgendeiner Weise vor.

Und meine politische Haltung kennen Sie nicht.

Eine valide Haltung. Mich hat auch eher interessiert, welche Haltung man hier einnehmen kann, denn das Thema wird politisiert werden, vielleicht auch zum Glück.

Naja, es wird von vielen Menschen dann leider so abgetan werden.
Oder vielleicht auch andersrum instrumentalisiert: Migration ist schlecht, also Grenzen hoch.
(Und dahinter steht die größere Frage, wie wir als Wissenschaftler heute noch alle Menschen erreichen und uns positionieren können.)

Danke für die Info, ich kannte den Begriff auch noch nicht. Aber sind wir da nicht schnell in einer politischen Debatte, die „Schlagseite“ nach links-grün hat?Risikofaktoren Armut und Migration… wie kann ich gut Wissenschaft betreiben wenn man mich gleich politisch verortet? (Ernstgemeinte Frage)
