Friends, I am winding down this life. I am so grateful for the beauty and humor you have brought into my days. I'm sorry I won't be able to dig another treasure out of the magic barn for your scrutiny, but know there is plenty of magic to go around, and THAT is the most important thing to share. ❤️

It was an eventful day at the infusion center. First in, last out, with these guys making sure I got out OK.

Thank you so much @ellen-friedman.bsky.social ! I've come to appreciate his poetry since I was exposed to it on social media.

It wasn't on my bucket list, but I'm trying something new today. I get to sit in a chair for 5 - 6 hours while undergoing chemotherapy. Hoping I gain weight and strength!

We were just notified that my 92 year-old MIL has been evacuated from her house in Pasadena, CA. Hopefully her small neighborhood will be spared. She is currently staying with Mark's brother in a 200 sq' trailer. Oof.

The report indicated no cancer cells in the 1.5 liters of fluid drawn from my abdomen, so that's good! They also said i am malnourished, so better send me some pop tarts stat.

OK, so that hurt. Port is installed, microlesions removed. I'm on pain killers which aren't particularly effective. I see the oncologist tomorrow, so am hoping he might have something a bit stronger for the drive home. I'm sure it will feel better day by day.

Wasting time in the pre-op for a laproscopy. Hey, Rochester had to buy a new snow plow and had a contest to name it. Taylor Drift was good, but I preferred "Barbi's Dream plow".

Nice to know Rochester has serious art sculptures

I'm going to venture out to the local Goodwill later looking for impulse buy books. I finished the two I brought with me.

Welp. Pancreas cancer confirmed. I know what this means, it is simply a matter of time. I'm happy with what I've accomplished in this life, and will fight for a while, at least, but not at the cost of bankrupting my family. Love you guys. Now back to our regular scheduled nonsense.

Finally sleeping off the anesthesia from the biopsy, just in time for bed. I have a PET scan in the morning, then a consult in the afternoon. Livin' the dream!

Mother and baby great grey owl. I loved witnessing the amazingly loving relationship between mother and babies. I’d occasionally hear her softly cooing to her eggs before they hatched. #birds #wildlife #nature #photography

Tomorrow will be interesting, but today I have Bach. I'm so fortunate to have made music my career, and to have worked with so many amazing musicians. So grateful.

Happy New Year from your Okie friend currently sequestered somewhere in Minnesota, where it is really, REALLY cold. Seriously, you people up here are tough. Or maybe crazy.

Heading out for the Big Adventure today. Oh, boy! Docs recommend no more than 4 hours per day of driving, flying is absolutely verboten. Does anybody know of restaurants or I-35 from KS north that serve pudding or plain jello?
