You mean the crisis that was averted *because* a lot of folks beyond the New York Times also took it seriously and therefore turned it into a non-event.
Yes, the Y2K software problem turned out to be a nonevent. But 25 years ago, The New York Times took it seriously, publishing over 100 stories.

The HEARTS Act has passed the Senate & moves on to the President.
