She might misinterpret things/people and I'm curious if the reader will side with her, since she has very strong thoughts on this specific thing, or if they'll see that she might be wrong.

That's all I'll say for now.

Mitali's POV focuses heavily on his thoughts, though he also notices lots of details that he notes. I wouldn't say he's an unreliable narrator.

Now... Sam. She's not intentionally an unreliable narrator, everything in her POV is things she believes, but she's completely wrong about one thing.

This. For me, it was especially the not knowing. I hadn't shared that I was writing a book with anyone and thus had no idea if it was even a story someone else wanted to read — and if I would even be good enough to write that story. Lots of second guessing yourself.

Nothing big changed exactly, they just feel real now that I've written all their thoughts and behaviors on paper. I've definitely figured out more about who they are and little quirks like Mitali being kind to small animals or Sam enjoying knitting.

Even though I knew bits about them, during brainstorming it felt difficult to make them feel "real" — but when I started writing them, it's like they came alive. I found out so much about them.

"See! I'm real. You said I wasn't. But if I wasn't real, how could I do that?" She looked at me defiantly.

"Poor lad," he replied. "Nobody doesn't know of the market festival."

"She's your Dad? I mean, uh, I mean, you're her Dad?"

"You killed the cactus Gertha gave you as a gift. How do you even kill a cactus?"

"Hey! Call me a psychic because I know you're in need of new kitchen appliances!" I'd say. They'd just look at me weirdly.

I'll be pitching my WIPs, as I'm not yet published! Just to get people excited for them and to share them.

A cozy slice-of-life fantasy (currently drafting) and two slow-burn romances (brainstorming/plotting).

I went with the slow and steady wins the race strategy, minus the wins the race part… and the steady part.

(I loved writing this line, it's part of the chapter I probably had most fun writing)

This is my though process a lot of the time too, but worldbuilding doesn't seem to come naturally to me. Instead, I daydream about my characters and all their little details.
January 27, 2026 at 1:46 PM
I don't understand how writers can come up with such cool and complex worldbuilding details. I am both excited but also scared to start worldbuilding once I finish my first draft. It just seems like there's so much to tackle!

Also, her. Both from the books and what we've seen so far in the show. I love a lot of the female characters from Percy Jackson, but Thalia might be my favorite character overall.

Now I'm so excited for season three! It's my favorite book of the series.
