Grave Secrets (Temperance Brennan/Bones #5) by Kathy Reichs. While I love the series, this was my least favorite storyline so far. It takes place outside of her usual sleuthing. I'm still a fan of the series, and I look forward to reading the next one. #BookSky #BookReview

Month 2 of 50 by 50 Challenge: I've lost .2 pounds & 1.5" across chest, waist, hips, and 3" off both thighs. I've volunteered 33 hours and read 16 books. Struggling to get the weekly swim in, but have added some minor weight lifting to my daily routine. #50by50journey

Week 9: I've lost a total of .2 pounds (up 4 pounds this week due to Thanksgiving). I'm hoping to get back on track quickly because I think the salt is the real culprit, more than the calories. My new habit change is to add garlic and sweet potatoes to as many meals as I can. #50by50journey

Morning Walk: Clear and freezing. Saw 2 dogs walking to the gym. Because it was 29°F/-1.6°C, I did 55 mins on treadmill (3.4 mph) and watched The Gentlemen on my Kindle. My watch doesn't track steps on the treadmill.

For She is Wrath by Emily Varga is a female version of The Count of Monte Cristo, but set in the Middle East, and adds magic to aid in the vengeance. It doesn't hold up to the original story, but it is a compelling read. #BookSky #BookRecommendation

Hamnet by Maggie O’Farrell also lived up to the hype. I'm disappointed in the movie trailer, as it is clear they made several changes from the story. However, I'm still excited for the film. #BookSky #BookRecommendation

I decided his name is Harvey and he is excited for hockey since he didn't make Santa's team. How cute is he?

Pachinko by Min Jin Lee lived up to the hype. It is a very well-written generational family drama. It is a bit on the sad side, and it's hard to watch some of the characters needlessly struggle. #BookSky #BookRecommendation

Morning Walk: 3.4 miles (5.48 km) Overcast and cool. Saw 2 dogs. Listened to a podcast on Spotify: Once we were Spacemen. I didn't take a pic on the walk, but this one was from inside the car when it was raining yesterday.

Quarter Share (Golden Age of the Solar Clipper #1) by Nathan Lowell. LOVE LOVE LOVE. This is cozy science fiction. It has minimal world-building, strong characters, low danger, and no love story. Super excited that this is a series and can't wait to read more. #BookSky #BookRecommendation

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving was a belated Halloween read. I think all the past interpretations of it soured me on the original. I didn't find it all that engaging. #BookSky #BookReview

Resistance Women by Jennifer Chiaverini. This is very well written, but I’m a little burnt out on World War 2 stories. I thought a different perspective might help, but it didn't quite hold my interest the way I had hoped. #BookSky #BookReview

Week 8: I've lost a total of 5.1 pounds (down 2.5 pounds this week). My new habit change is to limit fries to once a month. Adding in the workouts last week made a huge difference this week. Sadly, I haven't been able to swim in the last few weeks due to the weather. #50by50journey
