Afghanistan has the highest rates of maternal and newborn mortality in S-cent. Asia, with much of this due to there being such limited access in rural-remote areas. Much of the regions the US has been funding prior to the freeze/sudden stop was already woefully insufficient for what regions needed as far as scale of funding, infrastructure,etc. Then ripping this away made it that much worse.

Having just spent the last couple of hours looking into the impact of USAID withdrawal, funding freezes, and stop work orders for NGOs in just Sub-Sahara African countries, I can tell you w/out a doubt that everyone okay with this decision can go fuck themselves very much, forever. It's HORRIBLE.
