Got a recent Pulitzer for warning on the spread of autocracy around the globe, after decades of service to the paper? You can bet your butt you're getting laid off by form email, on Yom Kippur

The Post laid off seemingly the remaining of their liberal-leaning staff members on Opinion last Thursday, when some of them were observing Yom Kippur.

Cool 😎 stuff from Texas
volts.wtf
The historically volatile Texas grid was entirely stable this summer, despite extreme temperatures. Grid operators never once had to ask Texans to conserve energy or shut off their air conditioners.

Why? Solar & batteries. Want a stable grid? Try solar & batteries.
Solar and batteries had a record-setting, grid-stabilizing summer in…
Solar has set 17 power generation records in Texas so far this year, shoring up the grid alongside batteries as some gas plant developers step back.

I lived in a studio flat not much bigger than that size a few years and it was absolutely fine (tbf mine had big windows, but still).
I was out a lot travelling, sports, work, friends.

Half of HongKong have lived in not much more than that for decades

Just realised that in the UK we could just give everyone in the country a bicycle and a smartphone if we wanted to. Just one day, everyone gets a smartphone and a bicycle. No questions asked, here's your bike and your phone.

"Overall, the pattern was clear: most people – and most MPs – don’t grasp the urgency of the situation (...).
To close the gap between science and politics, communications must be sharper."
Great Qn "Critics say the proposed NFF underestmts childhood deprivation...by disregarding housing costs, & warn that some ..metrics it use(s)– such as parental qualifictns, natl census survey responses on children’s health, & the no..children receiving free school meals – are unreliable indicators"

Hamas killed 1200 Israelis on Oct 7. Since then, Israel has killed 60,000+ Palestinians in Gaza, over 20,000 of whom are children (acc to the NGO Save the Children last month) in what the vast majority of experts on genocide have concluded is a genocide.

The killing must end.
On later reading, sounds like this is some poor comms from Labour again, where most are not actually “new” towns, but rather investment in house building in existing town.
So housing regeneration in towns needing it?
Gisèle we support you.
You are so brave.

3 MAGA extremists have re-intro'd a bill that allows South Carolina to execute women who receive an abortion. If you haven't heard about S 323, it's because corporate media has completely ignored it.

Here's the overview, the sponsors, & how to fight back:
