Yes, it makes sense that she’s incompetent as well as evil and corrupt—she was elevated to this position specifically BECAUSE she’s not good enough to get a job like this on merit, so she owes everything to her political bosses. That’s more useful to them than someone who’s actually competent.

Why decline all these chances to defend feminism? Because to participate would be accepting the premise that our rights and humanity are up for debate in the first place.
Once you’ve conceded that it’s reasonable to ask whether women’s equality was a mistake, you’ve already lost.

Not an economist, but I'm confused the assertion that inflation is low so things are fine. Like, the price of groceries has gone up a bunch and wages haven't, right? Overall inflation rates might have fallen, but that's not really capturing what people are experiencing.

Every time I can’t find a working elevator, I can take my child out of the stroller and fold the stroller to take an escalator. But people who use wheelchairs can’t do that! It really makes it clear how much better we need to be doing.

DC’s metro system has decent elevators but trying to navigate the system with a toddler in a stroller has really made the gaps in coverage stark. Sometimes you can’t get from one platform to the correct side of another platform at a transfer station because the elevators aren’t in the right places.

This is so true! I recently subjected myself to the hell of trying on pants at the mall and I went to Sephora to buy myself a little makeup treat afterwards and I got a migraine from the perfume :( I can’t imagine what it must be like to work there but also I feel like it didn’t used to be this bad

Losing my mind over the one guy from that piece who has no choice but to scalp tickets online because a woman was hired instead of him for a writer’s room one time

there is a certain condescension in the idea that “racism should be publicly unacceptable and come with consequences” is an attack on the “working class.”
