Dude. I thought “using garlic skins and onion skins for stock” was the height of frugality but I guess I was wrong.
My personal opinion is wasting all that time and labor is more of a waste than chucking the garlic skins but I get Costco garlic.

By decent amount I mean “any hint of garlic” idk.
My experience with garlic tells me 1. The skins have little to no flavor 2. dehydrating the skins in the oven will only vaporize what flavor IS there 3. You’re gonna have to plaster that powder on, but she’s saying this with such conviction.

Hahahahahahaha because what IS normalcy? The “normal” was incredibly awful, it’s just that before social media, way too much of it was obscured and suppressed.

I’m absolutely not saying it is the same as chattel slavery but learning they have prisoners be firefighters without pay and the prison labor industry and realizing they have just given atrocious exploitation a new facade is revolting.

But I admit I’m angry and bitter over how frequently I’ve seen “this isn’t America; this is unAmerican; our government would never” since 2016.

Yeah, that’s another thing too. How powerful the POTUS and his crew are.
But my concern over the selling of “they care” is mostly in terms of “is this successfully copaganda-ing” and I feel the real harm in buying into “they care” is part of why people kept saying “this isn’t America”, but it is.

My biggest challenge in my life has been related to learning what success is TO ME. And what is "enough" for ME. Not for HGTV. Not for the way "things are supposed to be" or what mom or great grandma or anyone else would think of the dog-chewed coffee table. They don't have to live my life. I do.

I really enjoyed the episodes I watched in passing when my housemates had it on, but I was forever slightly uncomfortable, in that watching GI Joe or James Bond save the brown chick only to leave her behind while the world explodes behind him way. And then I was like, oh wait.
