My son plays the accordion so I’ve been to my share of accordion concerts and I’ve yet to see two that look the same. They’re all beautiful and unique.

Also, I love the fact that their origin is a mystery. Everything about accordions is great.

Ah yes, the grim satisfaction of watching the plane you told people not to board crash into the ground.

My notion has long been that we humans are essentially mysteries to ourselves, but that our primal impulses are fairly simple. However, how they interact to produce our desires and needs is chaotic and unpredictable.

Is it a hill upon which you will die, or a nonmetaphorical hill?

That’s a very thoughtful post. My gut reaction is that it’s simpler to have a no LLM policy. Personally, I’d rather read a poor human translation than a mediocre machine translation, because it’s easier to correct for human errors when reading, because they’re consistent, than random LLM weirdness.

I knew, in real life, some of the day-one-posters on 4chan. It was founded in fall of 2003, by the next spring they were talking about how no good would come of this. They were more right than anyone could know.

I knew some people in real life who were among the migration from Something Awful to 4chan in late 2003. By spring of 2004 they were saying that no good would come of it.

I’ve lost touch with them, but I do sometimes think about tracking them down to see how they‘ve processed all this.

Apparently someone’s already sent in a translation solution. I remain baffled that people come up with translations of this poem.
