I am very early in on it and I am having a lot of fun with just the worst protagonist ever, just an absolute bastard of a person. Great work and well done to you all.

All power to people who have the energy to clean a blender every day to make their morning smoothies but please put something other than three pints of cottage cheese into it.

Given that Danger Days is my favourite MCR album, looking forward to the essay. :)

Gonna hollow out a random vegetable, shove an entire stick of butter right in there and drown it in a half liter bottle of random spices before yeeting it in the oven

No wonder everyone thinks British food is bland, what with everyone else apparently thinking the best way to eat your vegetables is to coat them with ten separate layers of cheese and sriracha.

... so making it a regular and expected thing where players can lab things out and learn the game and practice footsies and whether a given thing is plus or minus and roll back are the kind of things I look for. Guided training in the community rather than "I guess you and your friend can do this...

Neat. The problem I have always had with fighting games is the disparity of skill levels between me and the very limited pool of people I get to play with, so a lack of normalisation of "we should practice" rather than "I should style on you with my mastery of a single combo chain" is a turn off...

Can modern fighting games do multiplayer training modes over netcode yet? Part of the struggle I have with the genre is the sudden difficulty switch to going online, with what feels like zero way to spar or improve or practice with others than to have the game throw you straight into the Octagon.

I'd like to play this kind of game :D

People who like videogames don't come up with this crap, because they know a number of players online is a stupid parameter.

Imagine how dumb is not playing a videogame that seems cool because a random angry guy told you nobody is playing it.

I'm sure Dominic can speak for himself on this, but it's clear that there is always a huge gulf between the views of enthusiasts and fanatics who spend their days engulfed in games media, who I would hazard a guess as being .5% of the consumer base, and the remaining 99.5% who actually *buy* games.

It was the biggest selling game in North America in 2023, and second highest in Europe behind EA's annual football game. [source, Gamespot, Gameindustry .biz]

I share Dominic's view and likely your own on this but saying "it sold okay" is just wrong. It was part of a continuing cultural juggernaut.
