In Vermillion, with a beautiful skyline of heart-shaped clouds and magical waterfalls, Liege and Ruby address each other. Liege looks somewhat sardonic as he looks snarkily to Ruby over her shoulder, and she looks back up at him with wistful sympathy. They both remark, "Honestly...? I feel sorry for you." In a second panel, Liege recoils with a Dracula-like posture of shock, snarling, as Ruby smiles with the same sad edge as before, as they again, both make the same remark at the same time: "...YOU feel sorry for ME?!"

One of my struggles is "I don't deal with second-hand embarrassment very well in awkward situations, in stories" yet I made a character only to put him through some Real Situations, Socially. And, physically, but, you know, the constant losing, is...embarrassing. For him.
In a splash panel of the Evertides, Liege crashes out a stained class window, smashes into and knocks over a stone tower and pings off a street light beam before faceplanting onto the roof of the Royal Murk Tank, a pair of his soldiers looking up in surprise. Liege has skewered an olive on a knife as he looks to his date questioningly. LIEGE: It's tactical; why risk being caught by an assailant while holding a spoon? WOMAN: How do you eat salad? Or noodles? LIEGE: Carefully. Crimsonheart back-hands Liege. CRIMSONHEART: Take the HINT, slimeball! The fall, from Liege's perspective, one hand reached out towards the balcony he was knocked from. Dawn is looking at Crimsonheart in surprise and worry, and their conversation bubbles become faded and smaller as Liege's distance grows. CRIMSONHEART: This was only part of his most recent scheme...! Something about some pretty lie of himself... Liege, wearing a princess's crown, looks caught mid-gesture, surprised. Grime doesn't have a particular reaction yet as he looks off-camera at some kind of interruption.

The soldiers in Shadowmurk stand at the ready with Ominous, who presides over the scene. OMINOUS: HARK - your sovereign returns! Grime and Alkamilla carry a still and bloodied Liege along with the aid of one of the Elite Squadron, forcing their way past the congregation, right past Ominous. ALKAMILLA: We're LOSING him - one side! The other Elite Squad member hands the top part of Liege's bloodied outfit to Ominous. ELITE GUARD: This needs to be dry-cleaned. Ominous stares ahead, in shock. Ominous slouches more than usual. OMINOUS: He'll definitely have forgotten me saying "my liege", now.

two bug-like humanoids with vividly pink eyes and yellow pupils stare at the viewer - one is a greenish color with a strong brow ridge, and the other is mostly gold and orange with purple hair and striped antennae. Both of them have no visible mouths, but wear a sort of metallic filter where a mouth would be in a humanoid face. I went to use my stress ball to flex my hand a little cuz it was sore, looked down at the actual plastic in the toy's orb compartment and said "huh, that looks strange--" just before thousands of orbeez burst out at hit me in the face and went all over my room...

LIEGE: She said SOMETHING, like, "the furious fire of fervor" or something... ALKAMILLA: Hot. LIEGE: I WANTED to compliment the alliteration, but I was drunk, and-- In a different scene, a woman wreathed in flame with infernal features looks at Liege, who is sitting on a red and black sofa in a fiery domain that we can presume to belongs to her. Liege smiles on her, looking coy and proud as he speaks. LIEGE: You are so ILLITERATE.

Hazel is content, busily writing away on a scroll, changed into a yellow top of some sort from her frilled dress during the contest. HAZEL'S NARRATION: It was so exciting having everyone show up to compete over me! I really was worried that there'd be no interest besides the usual faces I see time to time. Hazel grows cross, writing more furiously. HAZEL'S NARRATION: I can't BELIEVE my mother let Index compete at ALL. I don't want to sound blasé, but you really dodged him, Ruby. Hazel slouches, now, sullenly writing. HAZEL'S NARRATION: I definitely am going to feel pretty alone, if I get uninvited from Glossary's wedding. Did they even send you an invitation? Do you read any of these, anymore? Hazel leans back, putting her writing aside. HAZEL: Hmm...maybe...that's just a first draft. We pan out to show Hazel is sitting on the edge of a hot spring in Carnivora. One Carnivoran is delicately fanning her with a palm frond while Vilgorr stares back at her as she leans towards him curiously. Hazel's messenger bees are swarming the scene. HAZEL: Isn't Liege your friend? Are you feeling okay? VILGORR: I'm just wondering how you smuggled out all these bees.

I don't know how much of this explains anything, but it feels kinda like it might? going from Netflix which had, honestly, a really fun MOTU Animated run with a fun voice cast, to this...also explains why Netflix nixed the original series ages ago, I had never looked into it.
Trivia for the MOTU movie, which states, "The movie rights went from Warner Brothers (2007) to Columbia Pictures (2009) to Netflix (2022) and currently to Amazon/MGM Studios."

It was called a Winesap, I think? REALLY good flavor and a nice crisp texture; it has the good tart flavor you get from some crisp apples, but its sweetness almost has a pear-like finish! #food

I'd started worldbuilding a TTRPG setting back at the end of 2022. Love to do something with it, still, but I think I was just being too ambitious and wanted to have Something For Everything I Could Imagine, and that was, unwise.
A fantasy species lineup, that has a variety of bug/plant-like, snake/lizard-like, goblinoid, wolf/ram-like, giant-descended, bird-like people, as well as one incredibly long-tongued race that doesn't quite seem like it's based on any known creature. a pair of human adventurers, one a more sheepish young man holding a large tome, while a more battle-ready girl wearing armor over a pair of cutoff shorts holds an apple.

Alkamilla and Grime are propping up a snarling Liege in the back of a Shadowmurk tank. Soldiers in more well-fit uniforms, and an appearance that looks uncannily like Liege's, we can presume to be the Elite Squadron, are managing the tank around them. LIEGE: I'll smash every last one of their magic vaults and raze their tower-- Liege abruptly slouches mid-sentence with a horrible rattling hiss, causing Grime to panic. LIEGE: NYehh-hhk... GRIME: Boss! Alkamilla slams their mechanical hand into the center of Liege's chest with a sharp pulse of green lightning. ALKAMILLA: Clear! Liege sits up with a sharp inhalation. LIEGE: Hhh-GHRKK Liege finishes the sentence he started at the beginning of the page as if nothing happened, while Grime delicately holds him up. Alkamilla looks more casually vexed than the situation calls for as she checks Liege's pulse. LIEGE: TO SEA LEVEL! Their burning archives will blot out the sun! GRIME: Wow, he didn't miss a beat ALKAMILLA: He absolutely did

I found this meme from @doodlemancy.com and I think this is pretty accurate with zero funny business editing except! on some occasions, Chaise is a little bit "tries hard to suppress it and sneezes like a dad".

The Princesses are all more or less within a few years/months of each other - Dawn is oldest, Hazel is youngest and while Sandra didn't have a portrait to include yet, she was born the winter before Ruby's spring birthday.

I think my wrist is going through Feeling Funky Cuz It's Healing sensations at my dayjob, but I would like to reiterate that this would be a lot easier if we would just invent The Pod
Liege is stubbornly crouched, hugging his knees, sitting in the bottom of an open regeneration pod. Someone out of view says, "We're not sealing you in the pod for a MIGRAINE, or a toothache, or a hangover, or because you feel SAD. And you HATE the process of recovering from the regeneration pods." Liege is sulking and refusing to make eye contact with the speaker as he defiantly remarks, "I'm the sovereign."
