I remain of the opinion AISD should deeply consider electric generation as a major component of a future bond.

I'm unaware of the legality/mechanics, but there's gotta be a way for aisd to buy the current generation they use from AE at a fair price. A win win for the district and city.

Every part of the Disney experience is incredibly accessibility focused. A significant portion of the customers utilized some form of assistance. A high percentage of rides are also incredibly accomodative.

At Disney's Hollywood Studios, there's a section for Golden Age of Hollywood. Like many urban areas in the US, there's insufficient restrooms, shade, and benches 😬

Dear Austin ISD Family,
We understand that conversations about school consolidation and boundary changes are deeply impactful to our community, and we appreciate your
engagement throughout this process. Since sharing the initial draft plan on Oct. 3, we've been dedicated to listening. We've reviewed more than 7,200
pieces of feedback and engaged with thousands of staff and families at community meetings across the district.
This updated plan is a direct result of that engagement. It's born from our commitment to active listening, testing hundreds of ideas and hours of
thoughtful, student-centered discussions. Our community's input has been invaluable in making this plan stronger.
Many of the changes in this updated plan are focused on easing transitions for our families. This includes newly proposed transfer and enrollment
policies, updated boundaries and transportation accommodations.
Key updates
I want to highlight some of the most significant adjustments we've made, driven by your voices:
• Boundary Adjustments: We have updated the proposed boundaries in 17 areas after careful review of community feedback and feasibility
testing. Check out the updated school locator tool to see any proposed updates to your school assignments.
• Transfer Updates
• Guaranteed Placement for Transfer Students: Transfer students at a school proposed for closure or program change (including out-of-
district students) will be guaranteed a spot to stay with their peers at the new receiving school(s). If a closed campus is split between
multiple schools, transfer students will have the option to rank their preferred school.
• Transfers for Staff & Siblings: Staff and sibling transfers will be automatically approved, unless a freeze on transfers is deemed
necessary by the Superintendent.
• Continuation Transfers (formerly called Grandfathering): In addition to allowing students to continue through the last grade level at
their current school, we are expanding Continuation Transfers to now include rising sixth and ninth grade students whose feeder
school has changed. This is an important step to ensure our families with fifth and eighth graders can complete their planned transition to
their current feeder middle or high school without the challenge of changing campuses next year.
• Transportation
• Dual Language: Students who live in the current attendance zone of the schools transitioning to school-wide dual language programs would
now receive transportation (Odom, Pickle, Sánchez, Wooten).
• Montessori and Language Immersion: District-wide transportation will be provided for language immersion at Joslin ES and the Montessori
program.
• Stability for Pre-K: Our youngest learners in Pre-K will be allowed to continue at their current campus for the 2026-27 school year.

While this latest plan includes many updates, there may still be changes incorporated in the coming weeks as we hear additional feedback and explore
new ideas. Based on feedback from the trustees and comment cards, we're continuing to look at several areas, including but not limited to:

• The possibility of adjusting locations for the districtwide Montessori program.
• The possibility of continuing construction of the modernized Oak Springs Elementary School to potentially receive the combined Oak
Springs and Blackshear community once construction is complete.
• Creating a plan to repurpose the Martin Middle School building as early as the 2026-27 school year.
• Continued exploration of refinements to new school boundaries.
• The possibility of extended implementation timelines for changes that are not tied to state-required Turnaround Plans.
You'll also see additional materials available as part of the updated package, including:
• Details of the academic framework,
• A deeper financial analysis,
• A report analyzing all comment card feedback and
• A proposed changes tracker listing all options we've reviewed.
Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback to refine the plan. This is incredibly important work and our team is working diligently to thoughtfully
review every single comment and explore the possibilities of incorporating new ideas into the plan. No comment has gone unread or explored.
We understand this is a lot of information. Please review the updated plan, including how it may affect your family, and share your feedback by joining
our upcoming Consolidation Q&A Session or submitting a new online comment card. To find your school-specific information, review the individual
campus maps or input your address into the school locator website.
We also want to acknowledge that the possibility of change creates uncertainty that can feel confusing or unsettling for kids. Our counseling team has
developed this resource to help you support your child whether there are changes proposed for their school or they are simply hearing about possible
changes happening around them.
