As an intersectional feminist I have a huge amount of respect for Bristol Women’s Voice. At the moment they have a Big Give scheme, where donations are doubled. All contributions will help make sure IWD is celebrated in the city.

Happy to donate £100, which with Gift Aid translates to £225.

I’ve voted for Lucy Powell as
Deputy Leader of the Labour Party.

We need an independent thinker, somebody who isn’t bound by collective responsibility and who will be the voice of the membership.

Also, by far and away the best choice for 🏳️‍⚧️ people.

The people of Southmead can’t afford to take legal action against BCC for the illegal encampment on Lanercost Rd.

House prices near the Downs are 2x higher (on average) than Lanercost Rd (which also has more rental properties).

Crime near the Downs is 1/5th the Bristol average

Circulate this widely. The so-called debate about the ECHR is nothing more nor less than an existential crisis for the UK. Brexit crippled us. Leaving the ECHR would completely destroy any moral authority we claimed to inhabit.

Not one of the ‘Enough is enough’ ‘Bristol patriots’ protesting in Bristol today has ever joined me on a litter pick.

According to Kemi Badenoch the Climate Change Act isn’t doing anything for climate change.

As an engineer, I look for evidence.

The evidence:-

Perhaps Mr Yusuf isn’t aware of how interdependent high tech manufacturing is? And how, together with our 🇪🇺 partners, we have collaborated on many complex and successful projects, creating highly skilled jobs in 🇬🇧 manufacturing.

I know this. Because I helped design those products.

I’ve been a long time campaigner for better trans healthcare, this latest data is very disturbing.

Here in the SW you can expect to wait THIRTY ONE YEARS for a 1st appt. at Exeter. To put that in perspective, if I applied now I’d be 93 by the time I got there!

Here’s the moment one of those gender critical women rudely silenced me.

Not reported by the Telegraph or local Bristol media.
kazself.bsky.social
According to this article, McNamara & his GC colleagues claim they are being silenced.

And yet when he used the old transphobic trope about “6ft 3in with a beard” I stood up in the chamber, so he knew I was listening.

Straight out of the RW playbook (just like Farage), they’re playing victims.

It doesn’t take a genius to work out the cost of a barrister to carry out this inquiry will be quite significant.

Considering what I could do with that money in Southmead, I’d consider it not just extraordinary, but exorbitant.

Funny how former Tory MP Charlotte Leslie never mentioned flooding at the Henbury station. 🤔

Funny how she never said money was secured to bring it back into
operation. 🤔

Funny how there seems to be an alternative version of events being reported. 🤔

A joint statement with the Police & Crime Commissioner for Avon and Somerset: tinyurl.com/MayorPCC2ndOct
A graphic shows the following joint statement from the Mayor of the West of England and Police & Crime Commissioner for Avon & Somerset:

“The thoughts of people across the West of the England are with everyone affected by the terrorist attack at a synagogue in Manchester. They, like we, will be moved by the bravery of security staff and worshippers, and grateful for the swift response of emergency services.
“Our deepest sympathies go to all those who have been injured, to the families of those who have been killed, and to the wider Jewish community.
“Communities across our region will be united in their condemnation of this violence. Together, today on Yom Kippur and every day, we must all stand firmly against antisemitism.
“Avon and Somerset Police are providing enhanced support to the Jewish community to help ensure their safety during this difficult time.
“Every religious community should feel safe attending their place of worship. Hate crime of any kind will not be tolerated.”

Kemi Badenoch has just admitted that there was no plan for Brexit live on Radio Bristol 🤦‍♀️

She also said our industries aren’t doing well. Excuse me, when a trans woman helps design your products I have to disagree:-

I was disturbed by the Panorama episode that showed toxic behaviour in the Met Police.

Workplace culture can be changed, but it needs to be led from the top. Employees should never be afraid to call out their colleagues. Politicians should never be afraid to speak up on this issue.

In the last few weeks I’ve heard of women and children being subject to racist abuse on our streets and schools in NW Bristol 🙁. These are not British values, they are not Labour values.

There is no place for racism in our city.

I’m a Labour Party member.
I’m a trans woman.

We had the biggest ever assembly of trans supporting MP’s and union leaders at the rally yesterday.

On a panel event later Forstater and 2 of her lackeys were in attendance. I debated them on my terms.

I don’t need you or Jones to speak for me.

📣 Our statement on recent racist attacks in Bristol
In the past few weeks, Bristol has seen a nine-year-old racially abused and shot with an air rifle in Brentry, a racist attack on two men in Lawrence Hill, and Islamophobic graffiti on a bus stop in Bedminster.

These attacks on members of Bristol’s communities are abhorrent and need to end. The cowardly actions of a small number of racists are leaving our neighbours anxious in their own city. Every one of the thugs behind these incidents needs to be brought to justice.

Bristol is, and always will be, a proud, diverse place where all our communities stand with each other. We will call out the appalling actions of the few in our city who seek to cause division and harm.

Racism will never be tolerated.
