I had literally the same thought today, and came away with the same exact conclusion. Here’s my diagram of the solar system including dwarf planets with their sizes and masses. Amazing at first glance. Horrible when you look closer. And terrifying knowing people won’t see the problems

Isn’t that just the `use()` hook? Use works with suspense so if the promise is not resolved the component won’t render. How would your idea allow for loading states?

Congrats Daishi!!! I’ve been following this for a long time and know the hard work you’ve been putting into it. Thank you for pushing through all the RSC hate/confusion/complexity. Waku is amazing. And 1.0 is a huge milestone!

100% disagree. I like writing code. I hate writing spec. I hate doing perpetual code review. I hate constantly having to course correct it.
It’s sometimes fun if I don’t care about the code quality and maintainability. But then it always hits a wall. And trying to pick up where it got stuck is hell

Canadians don’t have medical bills. But we’re more liberal on average than Americans. Maybe we don’t get mugged as much and that evens it out?

Oh my gosh. The AI job applications. You have no idea. I don’t know how many times I read (in response to how do you stay on top of the industry) “I read blogs, like AWS and Meta, and I read RFCs” like what? No you fuckin don’t. The AI smell is actually revolting. I have a visceral reaction now

This. Exactly this. Return on time invested is so so low. But the little dopamine hits when it happens to work keep us coming back and wasting more time. We should be investing in ourselves and others. There are no more jr jobs! Hire jrs again and train them ffs. They need it now more than ever

I’ve been reporting to my brother for over 10 years. And I love it. He’s a great boss. But everyone always looks at me like I’m crazy when I say this. We just work well together. He’s the Jobs to my Wazniak.

I’m making a little bespoke book catalogue app for my wife and she’s getting so impatient with me for this exact reason. I’ve restarted the whole project 6 times now switching tech stacks and libraries and fundamental approaches. I don’t like making things. I just like tinkering
