Mom and I are in Nokesville today at Burnside Farm for their sunflower season. It is already steaming hot at 9:30 in the morning. We are taking a tractor pulled wagon ride to the different parts of the farm. They also have other flowers you can cut and buy. “Picking is buying!”

My 7-15 year old self felt very called out by this. I was a voracious consumer of print as a form of escape. I’ve slowed down and am a little more selective in my reading, but those years were formative and epic.

The train from Wengen to Lauterbrunnen is canceled so they’ve sent us up to Kleine Scheidegg to go around that way. I hope no one was hurt because I think we won the day with this detour.

Fighting words in my village. People think I’m the weird American because my cats are strictly indoor. But my kitties are precious to me, and I want them safe and healthy for as long as possible. And also protect the fauna of the village and countryside (not that my cats are wily enough to hunt).

What a sweetie! I hope she has recovered from her excursion! Cosy, under gabapentin, could actually have an exam. Both boys have lost some weight, got arthritis shots, and had their claws trimmed. The vet was very proud of them, and I was, too.

It’s an Advent miracle! Both the kitchen island AND the dining table are pretty much clear and useable!

I have found a fork. I wasn’t looking for a fork. I was/am looking for the clamp to hold my magnifying lamp upright. But there it was, a fork I didn’t even know I was missing, at the bottom of the sewing machine cover.

My two boys don’t usually sit so close, so I take a picture whenever they are in proximity to each other. Cosy, foreground, is clearly saying, “he’s touching me!” Smooch is trying to doze.

Two years ago, I was in a temp flat in Gex while the house was undergoing major works. Last year, I just didn’t have the capacity. But this year! This year, the garlands and lights are up on the beams, and this morning, I’ll hang the ornaments.
