Book shelves pin. This is about a third of my physical. I collect and read SFF, Pulp, Gothic, Weird Fic, Penny Dreadfuls, Adventure, Kaiju and some Horror

I primarily post pictures of book mail, reading progress, action figure collections, trading cards, reviews, video games, RPGs and board games

Speed is the important thing tho. Dash, hit and run round the pillars keeps control of the fight whichever way you do it

Well done!

Technically Asterius is the one people say to take out first because he is harder and faster, and I think you can lure him to charge into Theseus as well as pillars

I usually do Theseus first tho now because he deserves having his stupid, smug little face smashed in repeatedly...

As a wrestling fan, I approve of this project

Sinophagia is likely one I will read this month, since I own the kindle version and can switch between commute
kdsbooks.bsky.social
The 17 other ones written after he died, I've rarely heard anything worthwhile about from those I trust
kdsbooks.bsky.social
Apparently one of them is meant to be good (the fourth I think - I forget which one someone told me). The rest are apparently pretty bad and missable. I stopped partway through Messiah. Couldn't take anymore

My celebratory book order in full (except the new Gemma Amor which arrives tomorrow). All mostly from Waterstones

A mix of modern and classics; covering sci-fi, horror, gothic, historical fiction, non-fiction and noir

Strange the ERB ones have done that. The Bison Books one doesn't, looking at my copy
kdsbooks.bsky.social
Yeah. I haven't disliked anything in the paperback TotW series yet, but I've def enjoyed some a lot more than others. I also need to invest in the rest of the hardback anthologies, but that's a later catch up
kdsbooks.bsky.social
Looking forward to this. I've got all the series so far and I love discovering all these *lost* works - especially the novels
kdsbooks.bsky.social
But yes, the whole series has opened up a ton of forgotten works to me.

I get them direct from BL as part of a sub, with other goodies they throw in like art cards

Book 76: Randalls Round by Eleanor Scott

Nearly done with this apart from the bonus stories. My third from the “13 neglected masterpieces of macabre” list and one that deserves wider reading

No dense prose and up there with masters like Blackwood, James and Machen

Takes if the weird edition. A circle of flames around a circle of hooded people, with a devil inside looking at a shrouded person on an altar

Waterstones dispatched mine today!

Feel good scifi with a touch of Red Dwarf humour. I highly recommend his trilogy of Orphan Planet, Twin Landing and Star Bound

Treat yourself. Or don’t, but it’s your loss

So, this is happening... anyone interested in a complete feelgood SciFi series with bonus short story? Coming very soon to a retailer near you

Mine arrived yesterday with a big bookshop order. Not my usual genre, but I’m looking forward to it

Huge thank you to every person and bookshop that's ordered Ravenglass and made it stonking success so far 😍

This gripping and powerful tale of gender-fluid Kit/Stella traversing the world in the 1700s is very relevant in today's climate!

Book 75: Voice of Our Shadow by Jonathan Carroll

I can’t remember the last time a book caught me so off guard. 185 pages of enjoyable, but fairly mundane fiction with a slight amount of weird

I’d given up it going anywhere until the final 2 pages dropped a big, shocking twist before just ending
A black bird and a shadow on an old train track on the cover of the book

Today may have been a difficult struggle at work, but back home, hope and happiness were waiting in the form of Imprint's Tales of Adventure 9, the Doug McClure boxed set. 1/2

I enjoyed this one

How did you find the series overall - was it worth investing in? I remember watching the first (with Cavill) and really enjoying it, but haven't been any further yet
