I always wanted to like Klax. It was different from other puzzle games and has nice visuals. But I never found it fun to play.

And have to give Spicy some attention as well…

Played through Earthion this afternoon. It’s so good.

As seen in the “Too Many Games” issue of EGM. That issue blew my mind.

A+ No notes. An important part of Canadian heritage. Still blows my mind that they were a spin off from The Philosopher Kings.

Wouldn’t surprise me if we don’t get anything until the fall. My guess is a Metroid Prime 4 release date drop on Nintendo Today followed by a Prime 4 focused Direct.

Sounds about right. EGM was my go-to source for deciding which RPGs to buy. Xenogears, Grandia 2, Skies of Arcadia, Suikoden and Valkyrie Profile were others that I picked up after reading glowing EGM reviews.

That EGM review was the reason I bought the game. Same with Star Ocean: The Second Story around the same time.

The world would be a better place if people ignored things they didn’t personally care for and just let others enjoy things.

It seems as though gaming media has a year-round obsession with “GOTY watch.” Was that the case back in the glory days of EGM? Did the editors yell “Whassup? GOTY fo sho” when a game like Soul Calibur or Halo arrived in the office or was that mostly just discourse when doing the annual awards issue?

I’m thinking I can wait for a discount to pick it up. I have tons of stuff to play and the new Shinobi comes out that week.

My bet is a new Luigi’s Mansion. I don’t think they would release a new 3D Mario when they have DK Bananza which should be a big game for 2025. Maybe a new Mario Maker game is a possibility?

What games would you like to see take advantage of the Switch 2’s mouse feature? Do you see potential for genres that are more at home on PC becoming popular on Switch 2? Could we see point and click games make a glorious comeback?
