There is a clear through line from "small usages" of AI to things like AI actors, which some are already trying to introduce and normalize.

The capitalist machine will follow the money, and if there is no public backlash to "small" uses of AI now, there will be none for larger uses down the line.

But given how small the detail is, I've seen the consensus online formulate to some version of: well, it's just one photo. I saw a similar type of discourse when LATE NIGHT WITH THE DEVIL came out, that we shouldn't negatively judge a film for one small instance of AI usage.

As a Yankees fan, I feel your pain. I saw Kahnle starting the 15th I was just like “well, that’s probably game.” 😬 Still haven’t forgotten him loading the bases with nobody out in the World Series last year.
