Started watching Alias. One fascinating piece is the way they keep trying to introduce love interest characters for Jennifer Garner and there is zero chemistry with every single one. Still only in season one, but it’s definitely a thing.

DragonDiaries: Met a new cousin, Nathan Drake. Seems even more obsessed with treasure than the average dragon. Got to talking about how sparkly jewels are. Soooo sparkly. SPARKLY! SPARKLY! SPARKLY!

Evening fell like thirty-five sloths climbing a ball-bearing tree on the day the lubricating sap starts running. Schloop, eeek, slow motion falling montage, sloth hats for everyone! #BadNoir

So this is funny.
The administration just issued a rule slashing foreign agricultural worker wages. And to justify it, in a public filing, Trump's Labor Department alleges that Trump's immigration enforcement has devastated the Ag workforce and caused a "risk of supply shock-induced food shortages."
Trump Labor Department Says His Immigration Raids Are Causing a Food Crisis
In a filing in the Federal Register, the Labor Department argues there are “immediate dangers to the American food supply” due to a lack of migrant agricultural workers.

They will also cheerfully eat each other given half a chance. Pigs are an equal opportunity devourer of anything that’s stopped moving long enough.

i have met a number of pigs, including pigs i later went on to eat (we have small farmers in our family) and quite frankly, getting to know pigs has made me feel even less bad about eating them

they would 100% eat us if given the chance

Ooh, excellent use of finite reporting resources! Do they give Ig Nobles for journalism?

Germans have been gathering to engage in the latest social media-driven activity now sweeping around the world: eating pudding, in public, with forks.

“I think it’s very German humor,” a Berlin resident said.
Germans meet up to eat pudding with forks — and the trend goes global
The trend, called “Pudding mit Gabel,” has taken off on German social media, and now has crossed the Atlantic.

Distribution is THE under-reported story in book publishing (outside of the trade publications) and losing B&T is going to have untold ripple effects on the industry, small presses, and authors.

This class should have been a test bank is totally a thing.

DragonDiaries: Got a big bucket of dwarves in the shell, like oysters, but with plate mail and anger management issues. Not sure it’s worth it honestly. Those little axe cuts sting when you get hot sauce in ‘em.

Morning arrived like an invasion of piranha moths—one second you’re gazing wistfully out to sea from the widow’s walk atop your home, swathed in casual but elegant layers of dark wool. The next, you hear the sounds of thousands of tiny wings…then hey, presto, a chill wind on your nethers. #BadNoir

I did this. One two hour basic seminar, one advanced course in my degree area that overlapped one of those hours. Aced both. The seminar graded on tests and papers mostly covering material I learned in high school. I could have tested out easily if that were an option, but it was a required course.

This sentence was a bit of a record scratch moment for me. “Harvard may be partly to blame for encouraging student absences, with a policy that allows students to enroll in two classes that meet at the same time.”

I wish there was a simpler way to sort the people on my side who are committed to democracy and the rule of law from those on “my side” who would cheerfully throw those things overboard if only the people doing it shared their goals. Because, only one of those groups is really on my side.

DragonDiaries: Monday? Does anyone know where Sunday went? Or why it’s midafternoon and I woke up next to a giant mirror with an “I ❤️ me!” engraving? Or why there’s a big tub of something labeled mane and tail enhancer for mythologically horse adjacent?

Holland America isn’t terrible. Again, wouldn’t pick a cruise on our own, but a good solution to the aging parents issue.
