Dispersed or backcountry camping is a different story. Most folks who camp that way are usually super respectful and mindful of space already - because they know how valuable that privacy is.

Wherever you camp, a little courtesy goes a long way. Let’s keep our public lands welcoming for everyone.

Just a quick note - when I talk about campsite etiquette, I’m mostly referring to developed campgrounds like state parks and NPS sites, where campsites are close together and clearly marked. In those spots, walking through someone’s site can feel pretty intrusive.
