Another frustration for me is how inconsistent subtitles tend to be from series to series and platform to platform. My neurospicy loadout benefits from subtitles for dubbed shows, and its a toss up whether they made/offer closed captions based on the dub script vs the literal translation.

Rewatched Tron Legacy and found it to be even more frustrating clunky and boring than when I saw it in 2010.

Then I rewatched the pilot for Tron Uprising and was hooting and hollering the whole time. I forgot they basically made Tron Andor: The Anime with this show. Absolute peak Tron.

I saw him do a surprise set at the Nerdmelt years ago and he dropped the n-word right out of the gate and then acted upset at the crowd for being ‘too sensitive’, which I suspected was a sincere reaction this whole time. This just makes me more confident that my hunch was correct. :/

Today marks the 40th anniversary of the 7th episode of Dirty Pair, "愛こそすべて命賭けます逃避行!!" or "Love Is Everything, Betting Their Lives on Elopement", one of the most overtly trans-positive episodes of anime of its era. This was the future they predicted for us in 1985. We can still get there.
