Overall, you may find the effect with the LCD and pass-through illumination is a little ehhh (speaking from experience) but there are some really nice, big epaper displays on Waveshare that might suit if your initial approach doesn’t work out

Totally! I suspect you’re likely best off doing the underlying frame<>display interface in a parametric tool like fusion and then merging it with your more complex/freeform/generative geometry in a surfacing tool like Blender.

Yep — just not as powerful or flexible as Blender’s. But that may not matter. If you have a drawing or photo similar to the effect you’re trying to achieve I can give you a nudge toward one of the other?

You can! Maybe model the parts that are best suited by a parametric workflow in Fusion, and either use Fusion’s built-in surfacing tools (if the surfaces aren’t too wild) or export a mesh you can use in I.e. blender to do your surfacing.

Fusion is probably the easiest one for this. You can also try OnShape, but I’d say it has a slightly higher learning curve for folks new to CAD :)

not sure, how about spanoptikopita…? a savory Greek surveillance pie?

That's awesome – last time I was there, the person I spoke to mentioned this rule. I don't have kids, so it doesn't matter to me, but I was... mildly confused.

I wish I were joking that kids aren't allowed. But no, this is an adults-only board-game-shop-slash-french-bistro that someone clearly plowed their life savings into

"We've got board games..."
Nice!
"And you can have crepes"
Weird, but I'm here for it
"Kids aren't allowed"
What?
"And it's the size of the former grocery store location it occupies, in our current economy"

I don’t — but I do know one about making Mike Myers a fried egg sandwich?
November 6, 2025 at 2:13 PM
Well?? Did you do it?
