I read both The BFG and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - the original texts too - over the holidays. I will say Dahl's rep. for weirdness is well deserved. And the Chocolate Factory book is even weirder than either of it's film versions. 💙📚

America's attack on Venezuela and the abduction of its president is a blatant violation of international law akin to Russia's attack on Ukraine. There are lawful procedures to charge, arrest, and try a head of state accused of crimes - this is not it.....

So I had to flee home last night as a wildfire closed in. I am safe at a relative's house. I can't go home yet: the area is still under a code orange alert. I have no idea if my house is okay yet.

I've been looking for the words to say about Bondi other than a senseless loss of lives, sadness is all I've got and the hope that the media frenzy and politicising of this does not bring out the worst of Australia's society and cause more harm to innocent people.
