GenX working class girlie who became a college professor for 15 mins before disability took my ambitions away. History rules. Rescued by 8 😻. 🌊
I dumped a friend of >40 years when this 58yo woman posted, and I quote: "trans women athletes affects me personally."
She's a government employee w/a young adult son.
Neither are athletes.
FFS.
MAGA-adjacent too close for my comfort.
🤦‍♀️😖🙄

Well ya know Bill Clinton's name isn't under those black bars. 🙄

And cameras.
And audiences.

Have you ever watched hungry, cranky toddlers try to figure out how 5 of them will negotiate 4 napping spots?
That's what you're seeing here. Only a lot less mature.

That's not taking sides.
There's more than enough punchable faces in that crowd but I'm sure your funds aren't unlimited. 💸💸💸💸💸

Traffic in hate, hate will boomerang back at you.

In other words, what goes around, comes around.

Yeah, like I said, destroying everything that makes America worthwhile.
It's like a person who sees a precious gem & covets it so much, in their quest to steal it, they trash it & make it worthless.
That's what the GOP is doing to the US.

One of the best things I feel they taught me is that being born white is not an accomplishment.
December 20, 2025 at 8:27 PM
I had excellent professors at Clemson who encouraged me to pursue my studies in desegregation, which is a double-edged sword because it was needed but destroyed a thriving black economy.
The US needs to stop the bigotry. We have a white people problem.
I learned a new vocabulary from these scholars.

I'm a fan of the old-time sayings that still ring true, the "ancient wisdom" passed down generations.
"Don't cut off your nose to spite your face" seems so appropriate here.

The GOP is hell-bent on destroying everything that makes the US worthwhile.

It's mindboggling. 🤯🤪🙄

When I was 5yo, in my little PA hometown, there was a playground on a local highway w/a merry-go-round & fun stuff & I asked my mom if we could go there. She said no, honey, that's just for little black kids. I said, that's no fair. She said, oh Kelly, if you only knew.
It wasn't fair. To them.

I-95 destroyed a thriving black community that was culturally important, as top entertainers vacationed & performed at the same time.
Leaving Overtown, literally on the "wrong" side of Flagler's RR tracks, to this day, a husk of its former self, taken advantage of by developers who never deliver.

My 2nd PhD advisor (the degree I never finished) was into urban history. Being new to Miami, I researched Overtown, the 1st "legal" black Miami neighborhood. Til the '60s it was illegal for blacks to live outside 1 of 3 neighborhoods, no matter how wealthy.
So the wealthy moved to Coconut Grove.

This was the mid-'90s.
He just seemed clueless.
But I rarely rubbed elbows w/ the BOT.
I knew some very wealthy donors to the university.
They were confused why such a smart, ambitious young (white, let's not forget that part) woman would reject their money & influence.
Or stay loyal to my roots.

PBS did a special episode of The American Experience on her.
I wish those specials were required homework for History classes.
The lost culture when the Eisenhower Interstate Highway system was built is a major travesty Americans also don't learn.
Miami is poster child for that.

Aw, illiteracy.
Why do you bother to post?

No, it's not pedantic to say The United States of America - this country - is only 236 years old.
The LAND is much older.
It was NOT "the country," defined as "a nation or state," which is a legal status under laws Europeans brought over, of America, until 1789.
That's historical fact

They can both be true at the same time.
