I’m a Christian, and I think this law is terrible. Mixing state and religion corrupts both… Besides, if there is one thing the world should know about the teachings of Jesus, it’s the Beatitudes, not the 10 Commandments.

Maybe we can just let our bots argue with each other while we go grab a drink or something.

We might be entering a world where 'uninformed' folks who don't watch the news are the swing voters with the real power...Because news watchers are increasingly in a bubble where their perceptions are not challenged.

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others...But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father. [He who] sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

> Mere Christianity by CS Lewis - Yes, the CS Lewis of Narnia fame. A former atheist, he takes a philiosophical approach to thinking about whether there is a God, and who that God might be. Some of the cultural references are a little dated, just remember this was written during WWII Britain.

(I have challenged and questioned just about every aspect of my faith over the years, and these have been really helpful.)

If the Supreme Court orders the President to do something (e.g. bring a deported person back) and the President refuses, what then? They can hold him in contempt of court, but he is immune? Feels like a game of constitutional chicken where one side has already swerved.

It's a moral and ethical race to the bottom... I wonder if the principle works in reverse? Perhaps a few great leaders can set new precedents and start a virtuous cycle.

If the Constitution gives Congress exclusive authority over tariffs, can the President veto a bill that cancels a tariff? I have sung my way through the Schoolhouse Rock song SEVERAL times and cannot find an answer.

Maybe it’s a southern thing. I also find myself waving to cars that pass when I’m taking a walk, on the off chance they are neighbors.
