#TriviaTuesday: The hugely popular American fried chicken chain "Popeyes" is actually named after Gene Hackman's "Popeye Doyle" character in 1971's 'The French Connection', and not the spinach-munching cartoon sailor.

In 2016, TIFF’s essential Wavelengths slate had 15 features, four shorts programs and five installations. This year, just eight features – fewer than Primetime, the section that previews TV series – three shorts programs and zero installations. #TIFF50 www.theglobeandmail.com/arts/film/ti...

We're halfway through the year, so we're wondering, what is the best film you've seen in 2025?

Doesn't have to have been released this year, just a film that you saw for the first time in 2025 that you loved.

A surprisingly fitting double bill last night with Fassbinder’s Fox and His Friends and Hitchcock’s Suspicion. Both works featuring a naive person of wealth entering a doomed marriage
