A month ago, I saw someone calling Taylor Swift's Life of a Showgirl a "flop." This week, someone else called Wicked: For Good the same. Showgirl is literally the fastest-selling album in history, and Wicked: For Good is already doing better than the first movie. Are we using the word "flop" wrong?

Recalling that one of my short stories got published in an anthology that used AI for the cover art. I voiced some very strong objections, but in the end, I'd promised a story and never insisted on a non-AI clause. At least I got paid a lot to sell my soul? Reader, I was paid nothing.

I've spent a good portion of the last month working on this essay. Read it over and over. Gave it to my husband to proofread. Read it again. Great copy. Sent it off to my publisher. Reopened it. Noticed a missing word RIGHT away.

For the last two nights, I’ve gone out with friends at a VERY REASONABLE HOUR. And found myself falling asleep at dinner and then in the car on the way back. Am I still jet lagged? Am I still on Tokyo time? I got home, took a nap for an hour, and then was right as rain.

There are going to be prominent Democrats and mainstream media voices who insist that we have to "turn the page" and "forgive and forget" and they should all be roundly ignored, if not mercilessly mocked.
It’s crazy to think about the crimes we’re going to learn about after this regime ends.
We’re already hearing about Watergate level crimes every week. Imagine what will come out after it’s over.
We’re going to need a full accounting of all that’s been done in violation of the constitution.
