I am an author, unfortunately.

Currently in the midst of writing a trilogy, against all advisement.

There's anything I've learned from the recently released Epstein emails, it's that Bill Clinton has a once in a lifetime chance to do the funniest shit ever.

Wild how Shadowrun today feels like an optimistic alternate future. Native Americans gain independence from the U.S. government? A benevolent dragon becomes the president and governs by suicide? People still communicate primarily through message boards? Sign me the fuck up.

Excited to be in Los Angeles in a few short weeks for @expositionreview.bsky.social 's anniversary event, as well as the #AWP25 conference and bookfare. If you see an exhausted man with blue hair there, there's a good chance it's me.

Tonight we discussed experimental narratives in our "Spring" in-consideration meeting, and we can't help but turn to @kevinmflanagan.bsky.social's amazing example of what an experimental work can be. Take a ride with his STARLING from our "Act/Break" issue: expositionreview.com/issues/vol-v....

Musk’s allies were granted access to the U.S. Treasury payment system.

Treasury stays silent.

White House stays silent.

Why the secrecy? Time for an explanation and full transparency.

Everyone keeps saying bad politics means good art. That died in the late 90’s with skyrocketing rent. Your landlord killed it. Another reason to hate the bastard.

Where’s the next great music movement? At their day job on their third coffee with a mind full of hate but no energy to create.
As cost of living increases, as wages stagnate, as housing becomes more precarious, it becomes harder and harder to be able to spend all your time doing weird shit.

Whole ecosystems reliant on people doing weird shit, dry up as their habitat is burned for a billionaire's profit.

As an author I spend a lot of time writing single lines that I hope will be memorable and evocative, but reading the #TrenchCrusade rulebook makes me feel so small when they say shit like this

Me, looking down the barrel of editing 120k words in a novel: You know, I think I should start a new novel today

In related news, a very talented friend (and better author than me) were chipping away at writing an absurdist future-dystopian TTRPG in our albeit limited free time between our respective projects, and I suspect recent events will galvanize our interest again

"Twitter openly becomes government agency (named after a cryptocurrency)'s full-time propaganda wing and is controlled by an immigrant billionaire" was not something I could have thought possible in Shadowrun gamemastering ever, and actual dragons own stocks in that game

Dems spent four years courting centrists and Republicans and ignoring anyone left of them, and what did do? They LOST 1% of the Republicans and 4% of the Independents.

Establishment Democrats should retire, and go live off the millions they made in the stock market. We need a real, fighting left.

Escaping Twitter finally, and hoping I can find on Bluesky what I had on Twitter: access to good lit journals, and shitposting.
