Love his reaction here. Like, "did that really just happen?"

I feel your pain, brother. This was me in May.

Darn Jays are in a bad streak right now. But I recovered my mood by watching the 7th 8th and 9th of the MIA NYY game. Yankenfreude felt GREAT.

No other way to slice it: this is incredibly fucked up.

That's almost surely what he meant. I dont see that as a bad thing? Isn't pitch sequencing all about strategic behaviour?

Oh, I'm a big fan of Jomboy breakdowns and other content.

But this ep of Talkin Yanks was particularly full of schadenfreude for Jays fans!

Oh yeah: Romano for RP.

For SS, Otto Lopez who grew up in Montreal and played for Canada in the 2023 WBC!

For the 2026 World Baseball Classic, here's a possible Canadian roster:

C: B Naylor, Hicks
1B: Freeman, J Naylor
2B: Joulien
SS: ??
3B: Toro
OF: O'Neill, D Clarke, Jared Young
SP: Pivetta, Quantrill, Soroka
RP: Brash, Cade Smith, Sabrowski, Zastryzny

Not bad. Looks like a .500 MLB team to me.

Hmm. Maybe our different tastes come from the fact you read a lot of fiction so you're used to (and perhaps enjoy) not knowing where it will go. I want all uncertainty resolved ASAP and tonnes of structure. Doesn't work so well in fiction. "And now I present a key plot point..."

What's more, I want every section to start off saying what it's going to do. If I have no idea where it s going then it's much harder to know what to focus on. "This section presents the results in three parts. First OLS. Then IV, then robustness." So helpful! Anyway to each their own.

I want to know if there's going to be a model before or after the data. Are there going to be simulations. Perhaps how the results are going to be presented. It gets me working on what to expect and saves brain from contemplating false paths. I really do like them!
