She truly was. I had the great fortune of meeting her and Sylvia Earle at the same time, behind the scenes of an event at COP21. It was like the singularity of conservation wisdom 🤯

She built a legacy that wove science AND emotion together to help us better understand ourselves, our primate cousins, and nature. She was a giant and it’s on all the people she inspired and influenced to keep her work and her values alive. abcnews.go.com/Internationa...

If any other president in all of history said the military should use American cities as a training ground he would be removed from office that same day. The hardest thing to tolerate in all this is how relatively silent elected democrats are. It’s ridiculous.

As CNN offers daylong saturation coverage of the podcaster’s funeral, I went back and checked to see how CNN covered Melissa Hortman’s memorial on 6/28, where Walz spoke and Biden/Harris attended.

It got about four minutes during the hours it was happening—less than Jeff Bezos’s wedding that day.

Ooh, the wheel of Akin keeps on turnin'
I know he'll be tomorrow
The vicious cycle meme, which is a series of four chasing arrows in a circle. It’s titled in the center, “The Wheel of Akin” with a photo of Keegan Akin.

Text with a straight arrow that reads “we are here” points to the first step in the cycle: “On the roster”.

The text at the next step reads: “a series of disappointing outings”.

The text at the third step reads: “Sent down to the minors”.

The text at the last step of the cycle reads: “All our pitchers’ elbows explode.”

Much of the cardboard and paper goods strewn about our homes are sold by a single private company, with its name, Uline, stamped on the bottom.

Many may not know that a multibillion-dollar fortune made on those ubiquitous products fuels far-right candidates across the country.

That Cardboard Box in Your Home Is Fueling Election Denial
A previously unreported boom in profits for the shipping supply giant Uline has provided the funds for a deeply conservative Midwestern family to bankroll anti-democracy causes around the country.

I instinctually knew this would be untrue and the lede sentences are:
“Nonprofit environmental organization the Ocean Cleanup has announced that it's on track to eliminate the Great Pacific Garbage Patch by 2034. If it can get the necessary funds, that is.”

This is the playbook, folks.

If you're not paying attention now and doing something about it, then you're going to have to sit down the rest of your life because democracy is being taken away.

Do not be quiet in this moment.

For no particular reason, here’s a question I’ve found helpful to use in most situations where somebody is irrationally upset. “What expectations of yours am I not meeting?”

Too bad the GOP effectively criminalized studying how information moves online and news orgs laid off and demonized all the reporters who covered the burgeoning online accelerationist performative death cults. All of that work was somehow "censorship" that needed to be stopped. Now we're here.

John Harbaugh has blown 17 double-digit, second-half leads.

That’s the most by any coach since at least 1991.
