Been mapping the old DC street car lines Circa 1906. About halfway done. I’ve been dog walking in the area and the amount of suburban sleuthing you can do while walking a dog is very interesting!

The rightmost neon’s are still out but I’ll enjoy the unique photo taking opportunities in the meantime. Taken from the old Glen Echo Streetcar Stairs which I’ve been sleuthing lately.

The Amalgamated Transit Union Local 689 reports that @ddotdc.bsky.social is going to terminate DC Streetcar service by March 2026.
Nearly 2,500 people ride the streetcar every day. Buses along the corridor are already at capacity.
This is yet another broken promise to transit-dependent residents.
