If Github Copilot - one of the most well-liked and most conspicuous generative AI products, one of the few real *products* - only makes $500m a year, then there really is no massive growth story here. Even if that was profit. Which it isn't. It's horribly unprofitable.

$500m in revenue - not profit! - for the one Microsoft ai product people actually like. Pathetic!

Also back in 2023 the WSJ reported that Microsoft lost $20 for every $10 copilot a month subscriber. Amazing stuff everybody

We do know that amateurs can already post their writing right? There's no real barrier to doing that. What this means is that the Washington Post will be selling their brand credibility to anybody with an AI.

I read this and thought "that seems like a terrible idea. Why would they do this?"

And remembered that the Washington Post is owned by Jeff Bezos

I followed this ADHD hack where they suggest putting things in containers when you are too overwhelmed and need to clean up the house quick

Now I have about 10 containers that I need to go through that I collected over the year 😂😭

A simple experiment you can do is buy a server, set up a website with nothing on it, then look at the access logs. All day, every day, there are random systems just blasting vulnerabilities at every device on the internet. Analysts call it "background noise", executives call it "cyber attacks".

I don’t know what happened to this years Spotify Wrapped, but it’s disappointingly underwhelming/soulless.

Every year, there used to be fun parts in it. This one feels like it was some mandatory exercise, and I only got raw data presented, with computer graphics.

Where’s the fun, where’s the art?
