Favorite books of 2025 so far. Garth Greenwell’s Small Rain, Peter Heller’s Burn, and Andrew Porter’s The Imagined Life. So grateful for these exceptional writers and their stories that make life more meaningful ❤️

Yay! Small Rain is so good and happy for Garth Greenwell❤️
Small Rain has won the PEN/Faulkner Award. I don’t know what to say, except that I’m very grateful to the judges, & very moved to see my book included alongside such excellent writers.

Just finished Garth Greenwell's Small Rain. Astonishing, in beauty and depth. ( Even though Paloma slept through it!)

Love Peter Heller, especially The Dog Stars. His new novel Burn is horrifyingly real for our times and impossible to put down.

Am really loving the new Japanese series Asura on Netflix, set in 1979. Based on a story by Kuniko Mukoda and directed by Hirokazu Kore-eda.

I don’t think I’ve ever cried after reading a biography before but the Ann Powers book on Joni Mitchell, Traveling, brought the emotion. Thanks for this gorgeous, fascinating look at one of my musical heroes @annkpowers.bsky.social
