Very intelligent animals with a great capacity for learning when given the opportunity, really looking forward to this one.
Our next welfare webinar will focus on using positive reinforcement techniques to improve the welfare of pigs and dogs in research by encouraging voluntary cooperation with procedures and reducing stress.

📅 Thursday 27 November, 12.30 – 13.30 (GMT)

In our two-part @nc3rs.bsky.social Welfare Webinar: Minimising animal suffering through refined humane endpoints and early interventions experts shared refinements to pain models, snakebite envenoming, bone marrow ablation & more. 250+ watched live & recordings for both sessions are coming soon.
Welfare webinar: Minimising animal suffering with refined humane endpoints and early interventions
Exploring how refined, study-specific humane endpoints and early intervention strategies can be implemented in different research scenarios to minimise animal suffering. It will be of interest to researchers, animal technicians and ethics committee members.

Validation of a refined protocol for mouse oral glucose tolerance testing without gavage
A glucose tolerance test (GTT) is routinely used to assess glucose homeostasis in clinical settings and in preclinical research studies using rodent models. The procedure assesses the ability of the b...
