Labour have presided over a "doom loop of higher taxes, weaker borders and month after month of chaos" says Kemi Badenoch who was part of a government that raised taxes and immigration levels by record amounts, whilst changing leader no fewer than four times

The Right: We love En-ger-land

Me: Great, so you want to support people studying English literature then?

The Right: No, not like that. We just want an excuse to be awful to everyone else.

Oh, they don't. It's mainly just how you can tell when you're at an ambassador's event or not. In the very rare occasions that they eat one; they get one of the poors to chew it up and then regurgitate it into their open mouths.

I would hate for my indentured servants to learn to read and write and discover literary archetypes that are strongly reflected in modern society to this day

How is this repeatedly made into a policy issue - by *all* parties - when the blunt fact of the matter is that grown adults who are obliged to pay for their own education, and relentlessly pursued to repay their loans, should be able to study whatever the fuck they want.

Honestly, I would much prefer for this to be the primary reason for Higher Education. The whole 'employability' thing doesn't work anyway. Study your passions.

Learning just because you want to learn, not as the means of getting a career is perfectly acceptable. I loved doing my English Literature degree, it taught me critical thinking, analysis and so much about life. I have no regrets. Those are the things they fear.

What tolerant society?

You guys must be saving so much money on advertising.

If I have to become an outlaw sociologist, teaching ad hoc students in dark rooms at the backs of pubs cos no institution will employ me to do so...

Kemi, don't threaten me with a good time.

Kemi Badenoch does not want you to study English. At least she is consistent.

It's like they don't want people to know about agenda-setting, or manufactured consent, or how newsworthiness is calculated, or just how much of the media is controlled by so few people.

Badenoch, like all privileged elitists with no business being in politics, hates the idea of an educated population.

Funny how those are the subjects which offer insights into how much we're being fucked every day of our lives, and show us how people live who aren't necessarily like us.

Badenoch and Co see education only as a means to a massive income in some soul destroying career.

Devoid of imagination and the power of knowledge they view life entirely through the prism of the CV.

My advice always is to study what interests you and the rest will follow

“We’re sorry to announce…”

No Cross Country Trains, you’re not sorry.
khoffin.bsky.social
So packed, I can barely lift my cup to my face.
khoffin.bsky.social
Once again, I'm on a stiflingly packed train to Birmingham. So damn hot. Cross Country trains are the worst provider in the country, and the bar is pretty low.

What over diagnosis? I will NOT go back to a world where neurodivergent people are either considered changelings or institutionalised or just called 'naughty kids' and discarded.

Of course the review will find an over diagnosis, that's what they're briefed to find.

This is the man who ordered a mural in a reception centre for child refugees to be painted over. Just the most comic book villain nastiness and patent stupidity. He didn't want it to feel "too welcoming". Fucking arsehole. Horrible for the sake of being horrible. Like a 4 year old is going to text

his mate back in Afghanistan and go "Hey the reception centre has Mickey Mouse on the wall! You ought to get your parents to come over here". Just the stupidest arsehole. Make children who have made a terrifying journey (not by their own choice) feel even less welcome.

Robert Jenrick is a wanker. Always has been. Always will be. A deeply shallow, hateful little twerp who should be laughed at. There are plenty of white faces in Handsworth. A huge number of them are Polish, Lithuanian and Romanian. Some are British. White does not equal British. Twat.

First time I've heard a silver piece referred to as Elizabeth II on Bargain Hunt. That's weird to hear.
