I doubt ruSSia will recognize Ukraine’s sovereignty, allow entering the EU, NATO-style defense, or even return children. I don’t see how Ukraine can be in the EU and have a free-trade agreement with the US without causing trouble with EU’s trade policies down the road. I don’t see this pass.

Who believes that Russia will stick to the agreement? I don't. I expect Russia to manipulate elections in Ukraine to put a Putin puppet in charge. Europe should prevent that.
