I wonder if his reasoning there was something like:

1. We want Greenland.
2. Will Russia and China block us from taking Greeland?
3. Maybe they see the profit and want it for themselves?
4. They must already be taking action to try to take it for themselves.
5. They are definitely taking action.

😄

Impeachment does not result in removal from office.

You would still need a 2/3 majority in the Senate after impeachment to remove from office.

This is most likely a cost thing.

The US is a "huge" country. Many rural places are very sparsely populated... And so getting services to them is often impractical / unaffordable.

Seems they found a way to make it affordable.

This sounds like "Poor areas are using tech to create options they can't normally afford".

Low effort AI video?
January 17, 2026 at 7:52 AM
It's definitely valuable for a startup because you need speed.

For bigger companies, the equation can become more complicated.

Like Steve Jobs was hard to be around, but he had value.

So, it's somewhat a question of whether or not, and when, diversity will take you farther.
January 16, 2026 at 1:35 AM
I think it's more a Fortress North America strategy.

In a multipolar world, they want the US to be independent... And that means having direct control over all key resources, and many key strategic areas around the world.

The real question is more "What kind of oversight are these military AI systems going to have?"

The point of an AI First military, is that humans would be making far fewer decisions, and decision making would likely be consolidated in far fewer hands.

It seems to be "immigrant visas".

Wonder if that includes things like visas for spouses of American citizens.
January 15, 2026 at 2:11 AM
Realistically, you want government to be properly functioning.

Immigration enforcement should exist, but they need better training... And better ideals behind them.

Obama did deport millions – albeit more quietly.

It depends in part on why you're doing the work and why you're sharing it with people.

If you give it away mainly for others' benefit, then the main benefit to you is that you have an expanding portfolio that adds to your own brand, for when you want to go out and find bigger opportunities.

This is strangely like ICE hiding their faces to avoid accountability.
January 13, 2026 at 8:16 AM
The lawlessness is out of control... Actually had to confirm if this news was even real, for how ridiculous it is.
January 13, 2026 at 8:15 AM
Don't think Europe has the confidence to do this - the economic self-harm would be too high.

Even if the US would be hurt by it... European citizens would be screaming too.
January 13, 2026 at 5:30 AM
I think it may be more of an organic alignment than an intentional alignment.

Trump may be preparing for a multipolar world with a Fortress North America focus.
January 11, 2026 at 6:45 PM
That'll be interesting.
January 11, 2026 at 6:42 PM
4/ It doesn't have to be combative.

These are real world problems.

Some mutually beneficial plan can be negotiated such that "everyone" comes out as well as can reasonably be expected, in the short and medium term.
January 10, 2026 at 11:57 PM
3/ Like, Re: Europe vs China:

From Europe:

"Guys, we know that you want to lift more people out of poverty and improve your people's standard of living.

But our own economies are starting to look shaky, and if we don't protect them our people's standard of living will fall.

Let's talk!"

:)
January 10, 2026 at 11:55 PM
2/ What it really is, is a system engineering problem for today's much more complex world.

Democratic progress requires mutual understanding to negotiate win-win agreements.

And we need that done internationally, accounting for countries' competing goals and interests, to move forward together.
January 10, 2026 at 11:48 PM
1/ I think, in a sense, it's an expression of pain (and wanting quick results)... From both Republican voters and Trump himself.

But taking short term wins without concern for long term consequences...

Especially thoughts like "The US may be better off without NATO" ...

Plus, the racism... smh.
January 10, 2026 at 11:46 PM
3/ Plus, their economies are already weak. Getting punished by the US right now would make things ugly
January 10, 2026 at 7:36 PM
2/ I think on some level, where the Europeans like to think they're independent; they are kinda like vassal states of the US.

They almost always fall in line, even when it isn't in their own interests to fall in line.

Because they don't want the near term pain of directly opposing the US.
January 10, 2026 at 7:36 PM
1/ That's an interesting point.

There's definitely a question there of what is better for Venezuela: Continuity (subservient to the US), shift power to Edmundo, or possibly do new and fair elections.

Continuity (subservient to the US) avoids chaos and reduces likelihood of a future war.
January 10, 2026 at 7:34 PM
Macron's statement for example:

x.com/EmmanuelMacr...

It's basically support.

I saw the other PMs posts also.

I could see backlash on force against Greenland, but ... Humans rarely inconvenience themselves for the benefit of their enemies.

We're moving back towards "might makes right".
January 10, 2026 at 5:33 PM
It's because their results aren't tracked. So getting elected is more about effective sales / influence than anything else.
