you can gain a strong understanding of those if you're willing to spend a lot of time grinding and function well with written instructions. obvi won't help your spoken/perceived fluency, but you can get good listening/reading with brute force. money/resources would make it easier tho

that's good, it's one of those things that takes a bit to matter so it's easy to overlook until you get to the weights that fuck with you when you don't do it lol
January 11, 2026 at 4:37 PM
if you do that you want to make sure you take a full breath every rep. another style that's less common and probably breaks down at extreme weights is using exhaling to brace your core naturally (similar to like martial arts kiai logic) deep breath and then you exhale during the effort aggressively.
January 11, 2026 at 4:32 PM
idk your bg so i'll add bracing. there's also some arguments there. the general tech most people do is filling your belly with air and using that to lock your core muscles into place (think filling a balloon and pushing outwards) and then you functionally hold your breath for the rep.

other stuff u can consider. pulling slack out of the bar. it's personal pref and usually you end up lifting the bar off the floor at light weight, but arguably it's a little safer than grip and rip. the basic idea is pulling enough to bend the bar w/o lifting the plates as part of the setup
January 11, 2026 at 4:27 PM
an immediate thing is you want to be much closer to the bar. from a standing position as you hinge hips backwards your shins should come in contact with it as you move your knees out

idk if you do well with text descriptions deads is one of the ones i happen to have posted about how i do them. ymmv

the fcitx wiki has more info for non-arch users, but i second fcitx5. it's pretty slick once you have it set up.

i think 8 is the one i saw ppl talk about liking most. Followed by 10 and i think thats the only two ive seen lol

origins being a prequel puts it in a different space than a standard mainline entry. it's possible we have different definitions for what constitutes an overarching narrative. same way you can take any mainline dq and play it solo, the broader context of ys doesn't actually matter within a game
January 8, 2026 at 4:07 AM
it's possible i forgor or it's more jorked off in the translation tho
January 8, 2026 at 3:39 AM
idk what they'd be talking about. i got to the middle of 9 and they were never really relevant. there are references to stuff that happened in other games occasionally. my criteria is it has to matter more than a thing you'd glaze your eyes over for a couple passages w/o context
January 8, 2026 at 3:33 AM
i think they usually mean it lacks overarching narrative. the expectation of a storybook adventure that resolves everything brought up within its runtime is a selling point. 1&2 are funny exceptions to have for that despite being bundled etc

deadlift is a real bastard mechanically. also doesnt help that everyones bones and leverages are a bit different. a good part of it is trial and error. im no trainer but if u want a form check i could tell u any obvious issues i see.
January 7, 2026 at 5:31 PM
np, doesn't have to be chucks specifically i only mentioned cause they looked kinda like running/cross training shoes. it's because the padding squishes and shifts your contact with the ground. if the metcons are hard bottomed they should be fine.
January 7, 2026 at 5:21 PM
good work
some recs
idk the shoes you're wearing, but if they're padded flat-soled (converse/chucks) are more stable.
if it's not intentional try getting your shins flush with the bar at the bottom and sliding it up, cleaner barpath.
be careful w/letting your heels leave the ground makes u unstable.

pc engine or bust imo, but i'll give options to swap if you'd prefer. brandish (psp unless you wanna set up pc98 emu), phoenotopia: awakening, or dungeon antiqua.
weirdo options msx castlevania or the sharp x68k castlevania both kind of awful and interesting for different reasons lol

ever play rondo of blood?
January 7, 2026 at 3:37 AM
for video kdenlive might work. i've seen openshot and shotcut talked about.
davinci resolve probably works fine if you have a license but the free version On linux is pretty restricted.
for photos gimp is annoying to learn but techically works. krita is the only other one i know more drawing focused

you would also need to get a balanced mix of macronutrients to take in the vitamins and water properly. so its hard to say if taking supplements would be effeftive without the rest of your diet

you might be low on iron but you should also go to a doctor
